Guiño is the noun for a wink of one eye, derived from the verb guiñar. Figuratively, un guiño a means an allusion or nod to something, common in film criticism: la película hace un guiño al cine negro ('the film makes a nod to noir'). Do not confuse with parpadeo (a blink of both eyes).
