Usage Note
Galaxia is feminine. La Vía Láctea is the Spanish name for the Milky Way galaxy. The adjective galáctico is used both in astronomy and colloquially in Spain to describe something of an astronomically high cost or quality (un fichaje galáctico — a mega-money signing, famously applied to Real Madrid's star signings).
