Usage Note

Especificación is used in technical, legal, and commercial contexts to mean a precise statement of requirements or details. The plural especificaciones (specs) is more common in engineering and product descriptions. The verb is especificar (to specify), and the adjective específico (specific). It is a false cognate trap: 'specification' in the sense of a job listing would be requisitos, not especificación.
