Usage Note
Enterar on its own means to inform someone (enteré a mis colegas = I informed my colleagues), but it is far more commonly used reflexively: enterarse de means 'to find out about' or 'to learn of.' The phrase ¿Te has enterado? ('Have you heard?') is a very natural colloquial opener.
