Usage Note

Enfrente on its own means 'opposite' or 'across the street' (la tienda de enfrente). When followed by de it becomes a preposition: enfrente de la iglesia (in front of / opposite the church). Do not confuse with delante de, which means 'in front of' in the sense of directly before something, not necessarily facing it.
