Usage Note
Emparejar means to make things even or to pair them: emparejar los cuadros en la pared (to align the pictures on the wall) or emparejar a dos personas (to pair two people up). In sports it can also mean to equalize (emparejar el marcador). The reflexive emparejarse means to become a couple. Closely related to pareja (partner, pair).
