duda
doubt
noun DOO-dah Less Common
Origin: From Latin dubitare (to doubt), related to dubius (uncertain).
Usage Note
Duda is used in the phrase sin duda ('without a doubt, undoubtedly'), one of the most common intensifiers in Spanish. The verb is dudar ('to doubt'); tener dudas means 'to have doubts or questions'. Note that the d in duda is not silent — unlike French doute, Spanish pronounces its consonants.
Examples
"Tengo muchas dudas sobre el plan."
Natural Translation
I have many doubts about the plan.
