Distancia is feminine and is used both literally (la distancia entre dos ciudades) and figuratively (guardar las distancias, to keep one's distance). The adjective form is distante and the verb is distanciarse (to distance oneself). A distancia means 'at a distance' or 'remotely' (e.g. trabajo a distancia, remote work).
