Usage Note
Deseable is formed with the suffix -able on the stem of desear (to desire) and means worthy of being desired — applied to traits, outcomes, or situations. It is a neutral, slightly formal adjective; in everyday speech ideal or bueno is more common. Its opposite is indeseable, which also means 'undesirable person' (a stronger, sometimes derogatory register).
