Also means
to take long
Usage Note
Demorar is used reflexively (demorarse) across Latin America to mean 'to take a long time' or 'to be slow doing something', a usage that is less common in Spain where tardar is preferred. The non-reflexive demorar ('to delay something') is used throughout the Spanish-speaking world.
Examples
"No te demores, ya vamos a comer."
Natural Translation
Don't take long, we're about to eat.
