Debilitar is a regular -ar verb derived from débil (weak). It is used both physically (la enfermedad debilitó su cuerpo, the illness weakened his body) and abstractly (debilitar una argumentación, to undermine an argument). The reflexive debilitarse means to grow weak or be weakened over time.
