Usage Note

Curado is the past participle of curar, used adjectivally in two main senses: food that has been cured/aged (queso curado, jamón curado) and a person who has been healed from illness. The food sense is especially prominent in Spanish cooking. A third colloquial sense in some regions means 'drunk' (estar curado in parts of Latin America). Agrees in gender: curada.
