Also means
trustworthy
Usage Note
Confiable is used across Latin America for a person, source, or system that can be trusted — una fuente confiable, un mecánico confiable. In Spain the equivalent is more commonly fiable or de confianza; confiable sounds distinctly Latin American to Spanish speakers from the peninsula. Both are understood everywhere but register differently.
Examples
"Necesitamos un proveedor confiable y puntual."
Natural Translation
We need a reliable and punctual supplier.
