concreción

concreteness, concretion

noun kohn-kreh-SYOHN Rare

Origin: Latin concretio (a condensing), from concrescere (to grow together)

Also means

concrete instance

Usage Note

Concreción has two related senses: the abstract quality of being concrete and specific (la concreción de una idea, the concreteness of an idea), and a concrete physical formation (as in geology, a mineral nodule). In everyday usage the abstract sense — precision, specificity — is more common. The phrase en aras de la concreción (in the interest of conciseness) appears often in formal writing.

Examples

"La concreción de sus argumentos impresionó al jurado."

Natural Translation

The concreteness of his arguments impressed the jury.
