Usage Note
Cobardía is the abstract noun from cobarde ('coward'). It is always feminine: la cobardía. The opposite is valentía or valor. In everyday speech it can be used with mild irony — calling someone's refusal to do something trivial una cobardía — as well as in fully serious moral condemnation.
Examples
"Su cobardía sorprendió a todos."
Natural Translation
His cowardice surprised everyone.
