Chispa is used both literally (an electrical or fire spark) and figuratively for a flash of wit or charm — tiene mucha chispa means someone is lively and quick-witted. Echar chispas ('to throw sparks') idiomatically means to be furious. In some Latin American countries chispa also informally means a small amount, similar to 'a bit'.
