Calzado is a collective or mass noun for footwear in general — una tienda de calzado ('a shoe shop'), calzado deportivo ('sports footwear'). It is also the past participle of calzar ('to put on shoes'). As a mass noun it has no plural with this meaning. The verb calzar is also used to express shoe size: ¿Qué número calzas? ('What shoe size are you?').
