Bolivian

adjective noun boh-lee-BYAH-noh Less Common

Origin: From Bolivia, named after Simón Bolívar, the independence leader.

Usage Note

Boliviano is both the adjective (ciudadano boliviano = 'Bolivian citizen') and the demonym noun (los bolivianos). It is also the name of Bolivia's currency: el boliviano (BOB). Bolivia has two capitals — Sucre (constitutional) and La Paz (seat of government) — a fact worth knowing for context.
