así

like this

adverb ah-SEE Common

Also means

so

Usage Note

Así points to a manner already shown or described — 'this way', 'like so', 'in this manner'. It also expresses consequence ('so', 'thus'): así que means 'so then' or 'therefore'. The exclamation ¡así es! means 'exactly!' or 'that's right!' — very common in conversation. It can double as a conjunction (así que no vine — 'so I didn't come').

Examples

"Hazlo así, no de otra forma."

Natural Translation

Do it this way, not any other way.

Literal Translation

Do-it like-this, not of other form.
