Armamentista derives from armamento (armament) and describes anything connected to the arms industry or arms buildup: carrera armamentista (arms race), industria armamentista. The variant armamentístico is also used, especially in Spain, with the same meaning. The word is almost exclusively found in political and journalistic registers.
