Usage Note

Anti functions as a standalone noun meaning a person opposed to something (los antis bloquearon la propuesta = the opponents blocked the proposal), but it is far more productive as a prefix attached to nouns and adjectives: antiaéreo, anticorrupción, antivirus. When prefixed, no hyphen is used in modern Spanish orthography unless the base word is a proper noun.
