Usage Note
Ambigüedad requires the diéresis (¨) over the ü so that the u in the gü cluster is pronounced; without it, gui/gue would be silent. The plural ambigüedades is regular. It is a false cognate trap in the other direction — English speakers correctly guess the meaning, but may misspell it without the diaeresis.
