Usage Note
Ártico refers to the Arctic region and its associated conditions; as an adjective it agrees in gender and number (ártica, árticos, árticas). When capitalised and used as a noun, el Ártico names the region itself. Learners sometimes confuse it with antártico, which refers to the opposite pole, Antarctica.
Examples
