zorro
fox
noun SOH-rroh Rare
Origin: Origin uncertain; possibly from a pre-Roman Iberian root.
Also means
sly person
Usage Note
Zorro denotes the fox and, by extension, a cunning or sly person (es un zorro = he is a crafty one). The feminine zorra is the vixen but is also a highly offensive slur for a woman in Spain, so use caution. The same animal is called zorro throughout Spanish-speaking countries, though raposa is found in some dialects.
Examples
"El zorro se acercó sigilosamente al gallinero."
Natural Translation
The fox crept silently toward the henhouse.
