Usage Note
Tranquilamente is formed regularly from the adjective tranquilo plus the suffix -mente, the standard Spanish adverb-forming ending. Such adverbs carry two stresses: the primary on -MEN- and a secondary one on the syllable stressed in the base adjective. It conveys not just slowness but an absence of worry or agitation, making it closer to 'calmly' or 'peacefully' than merely 'slowly'.
Examples
"Habló tranquilamente con los vecinos."
Natural Translation
He spoke calmly with the neighbours.
