Usage Note

Tan is the apocopated form of tanto, used before adjectives and adverbs: tan rápido (so fast), tan bien (so well). It appears in comparisons of equality with como: tan alto como (as tall as). Do not confuse with tanto (so much), which modifies nouns and verbs. Tan never changes form — it has no gender or number agreement.

Examples

"Nunca he visto algo tan bello."

Natural Translation

I have never seen anything so beautiful.
