also; too

adverb tahm-BYEHN Common

Origin: From Latin tam bene ('so well').

Usage Note

También adds agreement or inclusion, equivalent to 'also' or 'too'. Its opposite is tampoco ('neither / not either'). In conversational responses it can stand alone: —Me gusta el cine. —A mí también. Stress falls on the final syllable and the written accent is required.
