Also means
to sculpt
Usage Note
Tallar means to carve or cut material such as wood, stone, or gems. It is the verb behind talla (size/carving) and tallado (carved). Do not confuse with cortar (to cut generically); tallar implies shaping by removing material with skill. In Mexico it can also mean to scrub.
Examples
"El artesano talló una figura en madera."
Natural Translation
The craftsman carved a figure in wood.
