Usage Note
Simplemente often softens a statement or dismissal, equivalent to English 'it's just that…' (es simplemente que…). In speech it can also function as an intensifier meaning 'plain and simple'. Don't confuse it with sencillamente, which stresses ease or plainness rather than mere factuality.
Examples
"Simplemente no entiendo el problema."
Natural Translation
I simply don't understand the problem.
