Usage Note
Sefardí (also spelled sefardita) refers to Jews of Iberian origin expelled from Spain in 1492 and their descendants. Their Judeo-Spanish language, el ladino or judeoespañol, preserves many archaic Spanish features. The plural is sefardíes or sefardís.
