Química refers to the scientific discipline as well as the interpersonal chemistry between people (entre ellos hay mucha química, 'there is great chemistry between them'). The adjective and noun for a chemist is químico/química; note that la química (the science) shares its form with la química (a female chemist) — context distinguishes them.
