Preelectoral (sometimes written pre-electoral with a hyphen) describes the period or activities leading up to an election — campaña preelectoral ('pre-election campaign'), encuesta preelectoral ('pre-election poll'). It is a compound of the prefix pre- ('before') + electoral. Like all adjectives ending in a consonant, it does not change for gender: el período preelectoral, la fase preelectoral.
