Usage Note
Policial is used primarily in Latin America as the adjective for 'police-related' (investigación policial, novela policial). In Spain the more common form is policiaco/a or policíaco/a (novela policíaca). Policial is also used as a noun in the Southern Cone to mean a detective novel or crime story.
