squad
Usage Note
Piquete has two main meanings in modern Spanish: a labor picket line (piquete de huelga) and a small military or police squad (piquete de fusilamiento = firing squad). In some Latin American countries it also means a small puncture or sting (from picar, to sting/prick). Context usually makes the intended sense clear. The labor sense is very common in news coverage of strikes.
