Usage Note
Perdedor is both a noun ('a loser') and can function as an adjective ('losing'): el equipo perdedor. The feminine form is perdedora. In everyday speech it can be used pejoratively beyond literal competition, similar to English 'loser'. The agent noun comes from perder ('to lose'), whose stem change (e→ie) does not affect this derived form.
Examples
"Nadie quiere ser el perdedor de la competencia."
Natural Translation
Nobody wants to be the loser of the competition.
