Usage Note
Pensador refers to a person, typically intellectual, known for their ideas — a philosopher or great mind (un pensador ilustrado, an Enlightenment thinker). The feminine form pensadora is equally well attested. It is not used for casual everyday thinking; for that, el que piensa or la persona pensativa fits better. Learners should not confuse it with pensamiento (thought, the act or content of thinking).
Examples
"Fue un gran pensador del siglo XIX."
Natural Translation
He was a great thinker of the 19th century.
