Peatonal is an adjective derived from peatón ('pedestrian') and means 'for pedestrians' or 'pedestrianised'. It commonly appears in zona peatonal ('pedestrian zone') and calle peatonal ('pedestrian street'). It does not have a separate masculine/feminine form: el paseo peatonal, la calle peatonal. The noun peatón itself comes from French piéton.
