Usage Note
Paraje denotes a particular spot or locality, often one that is picturesque, remote, or wild — closer to 'locale' or 'spot in the landscape' than the general lugar. It is almost always used in the singular and frequently modified: un paraje solitario, un paraje de gran belleza. It is masculine despite ending in -e, which learners may find unexpected.
Examples
"Descubrimos un paraje de gran belleza natural."
Natural Translation
We discovered a spot of great natural beauty.
