Usage Note

Oler is a stem-changing verb (o→hue-): huelo, hueles, huele but olemos, oléis, huelen. The irregular initial hue- always carries a silent h in writing. To say something smells of something, use oler a (huele a café = 'it smells of coffee'), not oler de.
