Usage Note
Ni links negative elements and is used in the structure ni... ni... 'neither... nor...': ni él ni ella 'neither he nor she'. Spanish double negatives are grammatical and required: no quiero ni café ni té 'I want neither coffee nor tea' (double negation is obligatory after no). Used alone in exclamations, ni means 'not even': ¡ni idea! 'no idea at all!'.
