Usage Note
Morir has an irregular past participle: muerto (not morido). The stem changes o→ue in the present (muero, mueres…) and o→u in the preterite third persons (murió, murieron). The reflexive morirse adds emotional intensity or informality (¡me muero de hambre!, I'm starving). Do not confuse muerto (dead) with muerte (death, a feminine noun).
