Usage Note

Mojar means to make something wet or to dip food into a sauce or drink (mojar pan en la salsa). The reflexive mojarse means to get wet. Figuratively, mojarse also means to commit oneself or take a stance on something — equivalent to 'to put your neck out.' This figurative use is common in Spanish political commentary.
