Mayoría is feminine. The phrase la mayoría de ('most of', 'the majority of') is followed by a plural noun and typically triggers a plural verb: la mayoría de los estudiantes prefieren — note the plural prefieren despite the singular mayoría being the grammatical subject (collective agreement is normal in Spanish). The opposite is minoría (minority).
