Usage Note
Marcha has a surprisingly wide range: a political march or demonstration (una marcha de protesta), a gear in a car (meter la segunda marcha), the pace or progress of events (la marcha del proyecto), and in informal Spain estar de marcha means to be out partying. The military sense ('march') exists too, but the colloquial 'going out' sense is particularly distinctive.
