Also means
rim
Usage Note
Llanta means a vehicle tire in most of Latin America, but in Spain it refers to the metal wheel rim, while the tire itself is neumático or goma. This regional split is a common source of confusion. The plural llantas is also used colloquially to mean 'love handles' (rolls of fat around the waist) in informal Mexican Spanish.
Examples
"Se me pinchó una llanta en la carretera."
Natural Translation
I got a flat tire on the highway.
Literal Translation
To-me punctured a tire on the highway.
