Usage Note
Levadizo is almost always used in the fixed phrase puente levadizo (drawbridge) — a bridge that can be raised or lifted. It derives from levar (to raise). Outside that collocation the word is rarely encountered in modern Spanish.
Examples
"El castillo tenía un puente levadizo sobre el foso."
Natural Translation
The castle had a drawbridge over the moat.
