Usage Note
Inversor is the standard Spain-Spanish term for an investor in finance; in Latin America inversionista is also widely used. The feminine form is inversora. Do not confuse with inversor in electronics/engineering, where it means an 'inverter' (a device that converts DC to AC current) — a classic false friend within Spanish technical vocabulary.
Examples
"El inversor compró acciones de la empresa."
Natural Translation
The investor bought shares in the company.
