Usage Note
Inmigrante is a common-gender noun (el inmigrante / la inmigrante) — the same form is used for both sexes. Distinguish it from emigrante ('emigrant'), which refers to someone leaving their own country; inmigrante refers to someone arriving in a new country. The verb is inmigrar.
