Usage Note
Información is uncountable in Spanish, just as in English, so you say necesito información (not una información). However, in journalism una información can mean a news item or report, which is a register-specific use. The verb is informar (to inform) and informarse (to find out). Its plural informaciones is rare and mostly journalistic.
