Impaciente uses estar for a temporary state (estoy impaciente) but can use ser for a habitual trait (es muy impaciente). The noun is impaciencia; the verb impacientarse means to grow impatient. A natural collocation is ponerse impaciente (to get impatient), which is more colloquial than impacientarse.
